Traditionally, the Live Oak International horse show has donated most proceeds from the event toward charities and non-profit organizations in the community. This year is no different.

Here’s a look at the organizations you are helping to support:

Marion Therapeutic Riding Association – Since 1985, the MTRA has offered therapeutic horseback riding to people of all ages who have physical, mental or emotional challenges. The not-for-profit organization relies solely on donations, fundraisers and grants. The program has two locations in Marion County and serves dozens of clients from around the region. For information, contact the MTRA today.

The Ocala Symphony Orchestra – The OSO was first organized in 1975 by area musicians. The not-for-profit symphony performs an annual series of concerts and relies on donations to continue its work. The symphony recently began performing in the newly remodeled Reilly Arts Center in Ocala. For information, contact the OSO today.

Ocala Farm Ministry – The Ocala Farm Ministry is a division of the Race Track Chaplaincy of America. The ministry is a Christian non-denominational, not-for-profit organization that provides spiritual, emotional, physical, social and educational needs for those involved in the horse industry in the area. For information about the ministry, contact the OFM today.

National Alliance on Mental Illness – The inaugural Live Oak International 5K will benefit NAMI. Established in 1979, NAMI has grown into the nation’s leading mental health related group. NAMI educates and advocates on mental illness issues and leads public awareness to combat the stigma of mental illness. For information, contact NAMI today.
